This is a painting of Mary Queen of Scots which hangs in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow Scotland. I took this photo when I was home at Christmas. I’ve looked at this portrait many times down the years, but on this occasion something caught my eye. I noticed her eyebrows. They are beautifully groomed. And the precise arches are amazing. I got to wondering did they have tweezers back in the 1500s? I seriously doubted it. Well, come to find out that tweezers have been around since roughly 3000 BC. Can you imagine?
I wouldn’t want to be the poor sod trying to pluck Mary’s eyebrows with any of these beauties.
