Last night I dreamt I was singing the most beautiful songs. They were songs praising God and their melodies were heavenly. I sang three maybe four complete songs (made-up from my heart) and even as I was singing and walking along I was in awe of their depth and beauty. The lyrics, profound and astounding, flowed like rivers of diamonds through lush green valleys (I know, it’s getting deep, but I just can’t describe the beauty.) and I felt like I was floating on air while I was singing. It was exhilarating! The scary bit was that I started singing when there was a threat of a bad storm. When I woke up I tried everything to remember even one of the songs, or some of the lyrics, but they stayed just out of my grasp. Argh!
What about you, have you had any unusual dreams?

What a beautiful dream Elizabeth! And how frustrating not to remember the lyrics you were singing. I know just what you mean – I’ve dreamed whole stories before that I could not for the life of me recall when I woke up. I do keep a notebook and pen by the bed but most of the time the dreams just leave me too fast.
It sounds like, (with the storm coming), you were dreaming of helping others “sing their way to God throgh a hard time”, and you’ve certainly done that, more than once I’d say.
Thanks for sharing the gorgeous song too!

Ooo, that’s good advice Deanna, I’ve not had a notebook by my bedside for a long time. And now that you’ve reminded me, didn’t Steph Meyers (?) write the Twilight saga after she dreamt the story? If only we could ALL have THAT kind of success. I wouldn’t even mind Academics saying I couldn’t write.

I know nothing about Stephanie Myers Elizabeth but I imagine she did write that story in her sleep….ahem….actually I’ve not read the series so I can’t judge the writing but I’ve heard nothing positive about it from other writers, (which is why I’ve not read it). But when you score that big I guess what other writers think doesn’t much matter.

I rarely remember my dreams in any detail but when I do there is usually a message there for me. Your dream was lovely..even if you don’t remember the lyrics.

True Patricia. It reminds me that praising God in the storm is a powerful path to overcoming and victory.

What a beautiful dream! I dream fairly often, but not as much during this season of my life. I probably do and don’t remember. I had one very short and vivid dream. I woke up laughing. Here it is:
Background: My son Ray used to come in hastily from outdoor activities and grab my hairbrush. I’d complain and tell him to get his own, and he’d laugh and use mine anyway.
Here was the dream: We were both riding together as passengers in a car. I asked my son to let me use his hairbrush. He said, “You never wanted me to use yours, so why do you want to use mine?” I said, “Just give me the hairbrush, Ray!” He did, and I used it.
Ha! I miss my son, but I know he is happier than he’s ever been. Still, I wish he could be here and use my hairbrush now.

What a precious dream Carol Ann. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I have a habit of forcing all thoughts out of my mind when I first wake up, so any dreams I’ve had are gone without me considering whether or not they were good ones. Once my mind is clear, I pray. Starting the day with prayer always makes me feel like God is in control of every situation I encounter, leaving me free of unnecessary stress and worry.

Wow Carol, what a fantastic way to start the day and keep it stress-free.

I was bemoaning just the other day how I’d had a beautiful dream but couldn’t remember any of it! It’s so frustrating when that happens.
I hope those lyrics come back to you, hon.

I hope so too Jai. Maybe the Muse grabbed a hold of them and they’ll pop-up somewhere in future scribblings??
